Microneedling therapy, also skin needling, is a highly advanced skin rejuvenation therapy system. It is practiced as a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. Vivace™ and SkinPen® are popular devices used for microneedling therapy. Microneedling therapy is a method used to increase your body’s ability to produce new collagen through regeneration. Facial Rejuvenation FL was one of the first in South Florida to offer this amazing treatment!
Microneedling therapy is especially effective for aging concerns such as facial wrinkles, facial lines, facial folds and crows feet. Because collagen is produced, scars and stretch marks can also improve from treatments especially indented acne scars or chicken pox scars. Pigmentation issues can be helped including hyperpigmentation as well as hypopigmentation, although pre- treatment assessment and preparation here is essential. General lack of skin radiance, skin firmness and compactness are also an indication for skin needling treatments and visible improvements can be seen.
Microneedling therapy’s versatility also allows us to treat delicate areas around the nose and eyes. The treatment also helps to minimize pore size and it can be combined with platelet rich plasma (PRP) to stimulate collagen production and speed healing. Our offices in Vero Beach, South Florida has a broad range of techniques, services and products that delivers your answer to skin rejuvenation.
Before and After
How Does it Work?
Microneedling treatment trigger your skin’s natural healing process…
As the Microneedling instrument stamps over your skin, it creates micro-point punctures in the skin, the majority of which are simply pushing your pores open temporarily. This is perceived by the body as damage, which stimulates the release of growth factors that trigger the production of collagen and elastin. Your skin reacts to any injury by initiating the healing process. You encourage your skin to continue healing through this micro-needling process.
Your skin normally assumes that scars, stretch marks and wrinkles are repaired, but with auto-stamp microneedling treatments, the skin is tricked into repairing itself. The process of microneedling skin remodeling can go on for months after each treatment. Results can be seen within a week or even a few days. Your skin naturally heals itself every 45 days, so with a little micro-needling stimulation changes can be dramatic and fast.
This treatment is used to help patients with all skin types and is a corrective and preventative therapy to treat fine lines and wrinkles, manage scars from Acne or other injuries, improve skin texture and color from melasma presentations, reduce stretch mark appearance and stimulate new collagen growth.
Microneedling Therapy with PRP
The PRP treatment is administered first and involves the application of a rich concentration of your own platelet rich plasma that is spun down via a centrifuge device. The Microneedling instrument uses the fractionated pattern of micro needles to drive the PRP into the dermal – epidermal junction. The Microneedling device allows us to vary the speed and depth of the treatment so we can safely handle all different areas of your face and body.
The PRP treatment is widely accepted as a very effective treatment and takes advantage of the body’s own powerful growth factors to stimulate healing and rejuvenation. Now when combined with Microneedling treatment, the PRP therapy has an effective delivery application to easily penetrate the surface of the skin and jump start the rejuvenation process. The treatment is easily administered and there is no clinical downtime.

What to Expect
Before and after your procedure…
Here's what to expect:
BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE
The procedure is normally completed within 30-60 minutes depending on the required treatment and anatomical site with a sterilized needle unit. Before the procedure starts a topical anesthetic will be applied to your skin to ensure a comfortable experience. After the skin is numbed, our technicians gently move the Microneedling device over your skin to puncture the epidermis layers of the skin and create miniscule sub-cutaneous injuries. These microscopic wounds stimulate new collagen deposition which may last for up to a year, yet they close within less than an hour.
AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE
After the procedure your skin will be red and flushed in appearance in a similar way to moderate sunburn. You will also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatments and within the next 24 hours the skin will be completely healed. After 3 days there is barely any evidence that the procedure has taken place.
How quickly are results visible?
Visible results of skin rejuvenation are generally seen after just 6-8 weeks following procedure and improve further over time. A course of 4-6 Microneedling therapy sessions is usually recommended to achieve optimum results; however skin improvement is noticeable after just one treatment.
Is Microneedling Therapy safe?
Skin needling does not involve injections and therefore allergic reactions and side-effects are unlikely to occur. It is minimally invasive, involves minimal downtime (circa 24hrs), rapid healing and requires simple after-care.
What topical treatments can be used along with Microneedling Therapy?
Microneedling therapy will induce collagen synthesis on its own, but skin improvements are significantly enhanced by combining skin needling treatments with the topical application of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) which uses your body’s own growth factors to dramatically increase collagen, elastin and overall skin health.
Are there any side effects or risks associated with skin needling?
Side effects experienced with Microneedling Therapy will usually subside within 24-48 hours. They include erythema, stinging, itching, and tightness of the skin.
