Kybella

THE NON-SURGICAL DOUBLE CHIN REDUCTION
KybellaTM is designed specifically to treat submental fat – the dreaded double chin. While traditionally this area has been treated surgically.
We understand that many factors out of your control, such as family genetics and aging, can cause a double chin. No matter how much you diet and exercise, that extra chin isn’t going anywhere. Before Kybella® was approved, the only good treatment option was surgical liposuction. Now, trained professionals finally have a noninvasive method with minimal side effects and little down time.

More

KybellaTM is a synthetic formulation of deoxycholic acid, a substance found naturally occurring in the body, which is synthesized and then used to break down and absorb dietary fat. KybellaTM has been under development for more than 9 years, and has been the subject of over 20 clinical studies involving more than 2,600 patients.
KybellaTM is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment that is used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called, “double chin.” The result is a more streamline neck and improved contour along the jaw line.

More on Kybella vs. Liposuction

If you’re weighing the benefits of KybellaTM vs liposuction, here are some main points to keep in mind while making your decision.
A liposuction surgery is completed in a single visit. With KybellaTM, you might require a few treatments spaced out at least a month apart. But liposuction is surgery, so it’s a longer, harder recovery. Price-wise, KybellaTM might be a bit more expensive depending on the number of sessions you need, but both treatment methods are generally comparable.
But the best thing about KybellaTM is that it’s less invasive. You avoid all the negative issues involved with surgery, such as anesthesia and other risks associated with surgery, such as the risk of infection and longer downtime.
It’s important to note that KybellaTM can only be used for removal of fat under the chin. If you have loose skin in this area (“turkey neck”), KybellaTM can’t address that problem. If you have a double chin and saggy skin, liposuction might be a better choice for you, or you may want to consider one of our non-surgical skin tightening treatments, such as Ultherapy® .

What to Expect
During your initial appointment for a Kybella you will…
Here's what to expect:

During your initial appointment for a KybellaTM, you will meet with our trained staff to determine if treatment with KybellaTM will meet your aesthetic goals, and if you are a good candidate for such a treatment. If yes, you will go through a thorough history and physical examination, and discuss with you all of the different considerations that relate to treatment with KybellaTM, including the schedule of injections, since KybellaTM is usually not a single injection treatment.
The treatment itself is remarkably quick and easy to do, and recovery and downtime is minimal. This makes it one of the most exciting new options for patients looking to improve the appearance of their neck, chin and jawline without resorting to surgery.
