How Does it Work?

What to Expect

During your procedure, your certified injection specialist will administer the filler into your targeted areas.

Here's what to expect:

These injection points will be determined by the licensed injector, who will target problem areas and provide corrective volume. Because this filler has a hyaluronic acid base, it is injected deeper than other similar products. In order to be effective, this dermal filler must be injected deep into the subcutis layers to provide the most effective enhancement possible. To ensure patient comfort, Restylane Lyft is also combined with lidocaine to gently numb the area. Your injection specialist may also gently numb the area using ice prior to each injection and will check in with you periodically to ensure that you’re still comfortable.

† Improvement was defined as as a score of 1 (improved) or better on the Global Aesthetic Improvment Scale at the time point of interest.

‡ Improvement was defined as subjects with Merz Hand Grading Scale (MHGS) score of ≥1 grade from baseline as assessed by blinded evaluators.

FAQs

What are the possible side effects?
The most commonly observed side effects are swelling, redness, pain, bruising, headache, tenderness, lump formation, itching at the injection site, and impaired hand function. These are typically mild in severity and typically resolve in less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14 days in lips. Serious but rare side effects include delayed onset infections, recurrence of herpetic eruptions, and superficial necrosis at the injection site. One of the risks with using this product is unintentional injection into a blood vessel. The chances of this happening are very small, but if it does happen, the complications can be serious, and may be permanent. These complications, which have been reported for facial injections, can include vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring of the skin. As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.
What are the advantages of choosing Restylane® for the cheek area versus the other fillers available?
Restylane® Lyft has a great track record of satisfaction and safety. The price point is also lower than other mid face fillers making it accessible to all clients.
What is recovery like for Restylane® injections?
As with any injections there is a possibility of bruising and swelling. Restylane® Lyft is injected deeper so you may also feel some soreness or tenderness in the injection areas for several days after as well.
Is Restylane® reversible?
YES! You can feel comfortable with the knowledge that if you don’t like your Restylane® Lyft, it is removable. There is an enzyme that can be used to dissolve the product. It may take a few visits to achieve the desired results but it is highly effective.
Are Restylane® injections painful?
As with any injections there is a little discomfort. Dr. Pierone and staff offer an in office numbing cream to help ease a bit of the ouch. Upon request, we would have you arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment and put the numbing cream on then allow you to sit for a bit while the numbing takes effect.
How long is a Restylane® treatment?
Your appointment could last anywhere from 30 minutes for a current patient up to 90 minute for a patient who is new to our practice.
How many Restylane® treatments do I need to see results?
You will see results with one treatment. Do keep in mind, moderate to severe volume loss and wrinkles can require multiple syringes and/or multiple treatments.
